How do I install a power supply box for security cameras? 2010-11-05

If you have multiple security cameras, also known as CCTV cameras, you may want to install to a power supply box for your cameras. A power supply box (sometimes called a power distribution box) removes individual camera power supplies and is a professional way to power your cameras.

Mount the power box on the wall with your drill and the supplied screws. It should be near a power outlet and your security camera cable. If you can, mount the box on a stud farm and drive the screws into the stud. The screws that came with your box may not be long enough to penetrate the drywall and the stud appropriate. If this is the case, use two-inch drywall screws, which can be purchased at any local hardware store or department store.

Remove the punch-out from the power supply field, that the best place to insert the power cable from camera provides.

Share the power cable from the Siamese cable (if applicable) and strip the power cable with 1 / 2 inch and turn up the copper.

Place the camera wires through the punch-out and plug them into power terminals. The power terminals marked positive () and negative (-) or together. Connect the red wire or wire marked positive effect on the positive side of power terminal. The positive wire is usually red, marked with a stripe, or with a plus sign.

Close the window and secure it with screws or lock. Plug the power cable in the box (this cable works as a computer network cable) and plug the power cord on your power supply box with the power cord built into the pits may occur.
If so, simply insert the plug into an electrical outlet.
